Positively DraftStreet
It bears repeating that you don’t have to finish first in daily leagues to win money. You also don’t need to win every night. A handful of consolation prizes on Saturday more than made up for six nights with no luck, and my $100 weekly bankroll finished with a 40% profit.
There is plenty of action to kick off this abbreviated week, with eight NBA games, There are no salaries higher than Tony Parker’s $18,745 — that makes it easier to choose a balanced 8-man lineup under the $100,000 cap. You will never get a better price on Chris Paul, if you think he is ready for a back-to-back, and I’m perched precariously on the Charlie Villanueva bandwagon, until he forces me to jump off again.

The chart offers five suggestions in the top, bottom and middle price ranges. Here’s one of my lineups:
F1 David West (IND-F) $16,604
F2 Elton Brand (DAL-F) $9,221
G1 Kyrie Irving (CLE-G) $17,243
G2 Evan Turner (PHI-G) $10,441
C1 Greg Monroe (DET-C) $16,531
C2 Byron Mullens (CHA-C) $11,935
U1 Lance Stephenson (IND-G) $10,487
U2 Charlie Villanueva (DET-F) $7,537
The Celtics may be exhausted after triple-overtime yesterday; that doesn’t mean Charlotte will beat them, but the Hornets could make it close, and their players are never too expensive. I’m using Byron Mullens, who has the range to exploit Boston’s weakest position, and gave serious consideration to a few of his teammates.
It’s always free to open a DraftStreet account. Money leagues, with entry fees starting at $2 and $5 up to hundreds of dollars for high-rollers, cap the number of teams and have much higher payout structures than our Friday Freeroll, which has been literally a 1,000-1 shot in two of the last three weeks.
