A few short days away from the NBA All-Star Weekend, yet that doesn’t stop teams from changing their look.
The Golden State Warriors made headlines Monday when they unveiled their new alternate uniforms.
Center Festus Ezeli tweeted a picture of rookie Harrison Barnes sporting the new jersey.
Golden State will wear the new duds on February 22, in a televised game against the San Antonio Spurs.
Adidas, the official uniform provider of the NBA, says that the new short-sleeve jersey features “the first-ever super lightweight stretch woven short with maximum ventilation for player comfort. The jersey includes armhole insets with 360-degree stretch fabric that facilitates free range of motion for the arms and shoulders.”
The Warriors will wear the short-sleeve jerseys in two other home games, against the Houston Rockets on March 8 and again versus the Chicago Bulls on March 15.
Adidas is hoping to unveil similar jerseys for other teams next season.
Mercury News columnist Tim Kawakami made a clever quip about the new jerseys on Twitter.
