- The interested teams are willing to move the following parts in hopes to acquire Smith: “Brooklyn’s offer, which doesn’t appear to be enticing to the Hawks, is MarShon Brooks, Kris Humphries and a first-rounder for Smith, a person familiar with the proposed deal told USA TODAY Sports. The Nets are unwilling to include a second first-round pick at this time. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because of fluid negotiations… The Boston Celtics are also known to be pushing for Smith, with a deal presumably involving small forward Paul Pierce. Whatever interest the Wizards had in Smith has disappeared, and Washington is not willing to give up any of the players Atlanta seeks for Smith, a person familiar with talks between the two teams told USA TODAY Sports. The person requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak public about trade talks… The Bucks are considering putting Monta Ellis in a deal for Smith. There is some concern that Ellis will opt out of the final year of his $11 million deal and go where he wants in free agency.”
- Smith apparently wants to play with both Ellis and Brandon Jennings if he were to go to Milwaukee, according to Chris Broussard of ESPN:
Josh Smith would like to play w/Monte Ellis & Brandon Jennings so Bucks trying to make trade w/out giving up Ellis.

- Jordan Crawford is unhappy and the Wizards are doing their best to move the guard: “Washington Wizards shooting guard Jordan Crawford is not pleased with his reduced role, and the Wizards are looking to move him, a person familiar with Washington’s thinking told USA TODAY Sports. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about trade talks. On Sunday, Crawford tweeted his December stats: 19 points, six assists, five rebounds per game. But Since Jan. 1, Crawford is averaging just 20 minutes, 8.6 points, 1.9 assists and 1.5 rebounds. Crawford did not play in Washington’s 96-88 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday, the fourth consecutive game he received a “Did Not Play – Coach’s Decision.”
- The Pacers were showing a real willingness to move Danny Granger, according to Alex Kennedy of Hoopsworld: “This isn’t the first time that Danny Granger’s name has surfaced in trade rumors. However, according to multiple executives, this is the first time that the Indiana Pacers have actually considered moving the 29-year-old forward. In the past, the Pacers have made it clear that Granger wasn’t going anywhere and rival executives echoed that sentiment after their inquiries about Granger were shot down by Indiana. Now, the Pacers seem willing to trade Granger if the right offer comes along. One executive made it clear that Granger could be dealt in the next 24 hours because the Pacers no longer view him as untouchable.”
- The notion to move Granger, however, was shot down on Wednesday: “Indiana Pacers general manager Kevin Pritchard is shooting down the rumor that Danny Granger may be moved. In response to a rival executive saying that Granger could be had for the right offer, Pritchard tweeted, “That executive would be wrong!!!”
- The Lakers remain intrigued with the idea of acquiring Raja Bell, from Kennedy: “The Los Angeles Lakers may not make a blockbuster trade before tomorrow’s deadline, but they are keeping an eye on several role players around the league. One such player is Raja Bell of the Utah Jazz. Bell is under contract with the Jazz, but he hasn’t been with the team all season. Over the offseason, Bell was highly critical of Jazz head coach Tyrone Corbin, which upset many people within the organization. Prior to training camp, Bell was told to stay away from the team. The two sides tried to negotiate a buyout earlier in the season, but could not reach an agreement. The Lakers are monitoring the Bell situation because they believe he could be a significant contributor in L.A. Bell would provide perimeter defense, toughness and experience. Last season, the 36-year-old started 33 games and averaged 6.4 points for the Jazz.

Told Clippers are very likely to stick with what they have going forward and not be involved in any deals, significant or otherwise.
