Harris is a kid who came out of college much too early, but has a lot of ability. He’s long and can match up athletically at stretch 4 and as a wing, but his court awareness needs to improve, nonetheless, he’s an interesting prospect. Lamb is also a good young player. He handles the ball well and is a good shooter. He’s not much of a creator or a penetrator, but he’s not selfish either.
After signing Jameer Nelson to that asinine contract this past offseason, Orlando’s plan at point guard has been to pay Jameer and pray. E’Twaun Moore has played some there for next year, but he gives away more basketballs than Santa Claus. Lamb gives them a guy they can groom as at least part of the solution at point guard. I’ll give Orlando 1 thumb up.
I also believe Milwaukee GM John Hammond did a nice job as well. He targeted Redick has an effective backcourt complement to Brandon Jennings, who it appears the Bucks are committed to long term. Hammond is under the belief that Monta Ellis is going to exercise his early termination option in his contract and is willing to pay Redick to be his replacement.
They’ll be a little small getting Redick, Ellis, and Jennings all a lot of playing time, however, their season’s most likely result is an #8 seed in the East and a swift 1st round playoff exit. The fact that the Bucks are committing to Redick long-term makes the price more than worth it. Getting Redick without surrendering rookie John Henson or a first-round draft pick is very nice move. Hammond understands the value he has with assets like Henson and Larry Sanders (hey now). Using organizational depth to improve is what it’s all about. The only reason I only give the Bucks one thumb up is because I have serious doubts how they can upgrade this roster enough to be a top 4 team in the East. Even with Redick, the Bucks appear just good enough to remain in NBA purgatory.
The Wizards trade Jordan Crawford to the Celtics for Leandro Barbosa and Jason Collins.
All you need to know about this deal is that the Wizards took a guy who is injured out for the year and a guy who has made a career out of fouling Dwight Howard and nothing else, just to get rid of the shameless chucking of Crawford.
For essentially nothing, the Celtics get a guy in Crawford who can shoot them into games as easily as he can shoot them out of games.
If he’s missing and chucking, the Celtics are actually deep enough to sit him. That gives them a thumbs up. The Wizards, on the other hand, continue to squander assets while they’re rebuilding which is a no-no.
Their GM, Ernie Grunfeld has made a lot more mistakes than good moves, and that’s with the gift of John Wall as a #1 pick.
Granted, Grunfeld acquired Crawford on the cheap, but he sold him even cheaper, which gives them a thumbs down.

but totally agree about danny ferry. It makes zero sense for him to turn that down. Its an absolute blunder. And its going to hurt atlanta for several years. Utah too, chose to be an 8 seed rather than build a contender in the future. WHY hold on to both milsap and jefferson?

everyone keeps going on about robinson can be a star. >Well, its not as if he didnt get a chance in sactown. he was sitting a lot because he was awful. So……..temper this enthusiasm, the guy was been terrible so far. Patterson was having a break out year……and while MAYBE he doesnt have the upside, right now he is a far better player and personally id rather have him than the overhyped and dissapointing robinson. You watch, TRobb is going to sit in houston too.
