New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith is always battling slanderous tweets directed towards him, and never fails to bring it up after the conclusion of a game – especially when the team loses, as it did on Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors. Smith scored a team-high 26 points on eight-of-17 shooting – a strong effort by the guard, who had to carry the load for an offensively futile night for the Knicks, as they shot just 35 percent as a team.

Hedo Turkoglu tests positive for steroid, suspended for 20 games
Orlando Magic forward Hedo Turkoglu has been suspended for violating the NBA’s anti-drug policy. According to Jessica Camerato of CSNNE.com, Turkoglu tested positive for methenolone. Methenolone, not to be confused with methadone, is an anabolic steroid. According to Wikipedia, it’s found in nature in the adrenal glands of “pregnant domesticated felines.” Nadzeya Ostapchuk, a shot putter from Belarus, was stripped of a gold medal in the Olympics when she tested positive for methenolone. Nerlens Noel has torn ACL, out for season
Kentucky freshman big man Nerlens Noel has a torn ACL and is out for the season, which could have a huge impact on the top of the 2013 NBA draft. The school is announcing the extent of the injury.
