What Johnson probably never considered was how the owner of the Miami Heat – Micky Arison – might have felt about the way his franchise player has been portrayed because of all the discussion and hype surrounding the contest, thanks to Johnson’s million-dollar offer.
Simply put, James has been scrutinized enough for not joining the contest, and Magic putting on the pressure probably wasn’t going to help the situation – especially if LeBron elects not to dunk again. So when Arison saw Johnson’s anguish about the Lakers, he decided then and there would be the perfect time to let Johnson have it:
