1:00 Leagues Close Earlier Than Ever
While you were sleeping, everyone’s clocks jumped an hour ahead, so the first half of the ABC matinee doubleheader starts sooner than you think. In daily leagues today, many contests close at 1:00 EDT, and if you want to use any players from the Thunder, Celtics, Lakers or Bulls, better hurry.
The majority of leagues remain open until 6:00 EDT, and are limited to the other seven NBA games. That’s the player pool we focus on in today’s chart.
My week has been disappointing; the $100 bankroll is down to just $22 but it only takes one good day to finish in the black, so we are going all-in.

Seven NBA games means plenty of choices, though many of the highest-priced superstars have the night off. You can make unlimited roster moves until the 6:00 EDT deadline. Here’s one of my lineups.
F1 LaMarcus Aldridge (POR-F) $16,578
F2 Spencer Hawes (PHI-F) $10,933
G1 Dwyane Wade (MIA-G) $18,535
G2 Damian Lillard (POR-G) $16,662
C1 Amir Johnson (TOR-C) $12,354
C2 Jonas Valanciunas (TOR-C) $7,553
U1 Wesley Matthews (POR-G) $9,405
U2 Mike Dunleavy (MIL-G) $7,842
The #1 decision today is whether to pony up $23,093 for LeBron James or try for more balance. I’m going with Dwyane Wade as my highest-priced player and using three Trail Blazers; they scored 136 in regulation last game. Cleveland’s bigs aren’t too scary so I’m hoping the Raptors centers are cost-effective.

You don’t really believe Amare would only be out for 6 weeks? He had the same debridement before, and he was out for 8 weeks and slow to get PT.
However, the 8 weeks clock doesn’t start until after the surgery, which we don’t know when that will be.
May 15, is more like the earliest Amare will see game time play. Will the Knicks be sent Fishing by then? Knicks fans are known to be overly optimistic.
