$300 Friday Freeroll Open to All
Be sure to join the Sheridan Hoops Freeroll, where somebody will win $100 cash for nothing. There is no catch — it’s free to open an account and there’s no entry fee. An additional $200 in cash will be paid in consolation prizes for finishing anywhere from second ($60) to 15th ($5) and it’s fun win or lose. The salary cap game is simple; just pick an 8-man lineup for March 15 NBA games only, without exceeding the $100,000 cap.
Over 1,000 people usually take part in the Freeroll, so it’s not easy to win. I play in much more favorable $2 leagues every night, though I’m in a bit of a slump so far this week. My $100 bankroll has dwindled to $72 and tonight’s 11-game slate is difficult to handicap, so we’re going to take it easy and make our move on the weekend.

It’s always best to enter leagues early, before the most lucrative contests fill up. You can submit a placeholder lineup and make changes until the 7:00 EDT deadline. There are so many studs to choose from tonight, I’m just taking a stab on Kevin Durant. The rest of the lineup below is comprised of ‘situational bargains’ — guys who I expect, for one reason or another, to outperform their salaries.
F1 Kevin Durant (OKC-F) $21,195
F2 Jason Thompson (SAC-F) $11,835
G1 Paul George (IND-G) $15,110
G2 Rodney Stuckey (DET-G) $9,686
C1 Roy Hibbert (IND-C) $12,782
C2 Jermaine O’Neal (PHO-C) $8,949
U1 Kenneth Faried (DEN-F) $12,126
U2 Devin Harris (ATL-G) $8,147
The riskiest pick is Devin Harris, but if Jeff Teague can’t play, Harris will get huge minutes and the Lakers might not be focused on defense in a back-to-back. Jason Thompson may seem like another unlikely choice. However, with DeMarcus Cousins both hurt and likely to be suspended, I like the price. Good luck with all your teams. Why wait for Friday when you can start winning money tonight?
