Record 1,260 Teams Enter Freeroll
It was way more than a thousand-to-one shot. The odds were 1,259-1 as “grease7” won last night’s Freeroll with 279.25 points. The number of entries broke the old record by 100 teams. Thanks for playing; hope you all had fun.
Just 1.25 points back in second, “goobretty” earned $60 cash and “Jer” wins $30 for third. My team was #261, which sounds a long way back, but I beat 999 people.
Don’t wait for next week’s Freeroll. The salary cap game is much easier to win in $2 leagues. Limited to 550 entries instead of 1,260, with $1,000 in guaranteed prize money instead of $300 and 50 winners, not 15, the daily GPP is my main game. You can enter up to three teams, further increasing your odds. Rules are the same as the Freeroll, so if you like the action, make a deposit and give it a try.

With only six NBA games, many of the highest-priced superstars have the night off. Tim Duncan and John Wall top the salary list for Saturday, but I like Damian Lillard better than Wall. Here’s my tentative lineup; you can make unlimited changes until the 7:00 EDT deadline.
F1 Tim Duncan (SA-F) $18,768
F2 Paul Pierce (BOS-F) $15,201
G1 Damian Lillard (POR-G) $16,634
G2 Wesley Matthews (POR-G) $10,222
C1 Tiago Splitter (SA-C) $11,081
C2 Jermaine O’Neal (PHO-C) $9,863
U1 Tayshaun Prince (MEM-F) $9,841
U2 Will Bynum (DET-G) $8,292
My strategy is to save money at C and invest it elsewhere. Al Jefferson ($12,792) is pretty tempting against Marc Gasol ($16,560) as Memphis is playing a fourth road game in five nights and gave all they had in Denver on Friday. Replacing Tiago Splitter with Big Al would mean cutting $1,700 in another position; I could swap out Tayshaun Prince for Mo Williams and still be $36 under the $100K cap. I love this game; it’s always a challenge and always fun.
