Sunday Leagues Closing Early and Late
You get a choice in daily leagues today. Three of the eight games are matinees, so if you want to use players from any of those six teams, better hurry and join a 1:00 contest. The majortity of leagues will close at 7:00 EDT, but they will be limited to the other five NBA games. That means no LeBron James, Chris Paul or Monta Ellis in the player pool, to name a few.
I’ve entered three teams in the $600 Guaranteed Prize Pool that closes early, but it might reach the limit of 330 teams before you read this. I’m also in the $1,000 GPP that closes at 7:00, and today’s chart will focus on that event and the other late-closing leagues.

It’s very tempting to build a team around Dwight Howard, who is vitally important to the Lakers while Kobe Bryant recovers from his ankle sprain, but there’s the possibility of a blowout against the Kings, and L.A. must play again tomorrow, so I’m expecting the big man to play no more minutes than necessary.

That’s a “Stars-and-Scrubs” lineup, with two superstars accounting for more than 40% of the $100K salary cap and the other six players averaging just under $10,000 each. It’s tricky today because there aren’t a lot of really inexpensive players who seem likely to produce, especially in the later-closing leagues. A few potential bargains like Iman Shumpert ($5,800) and Terrence Ross ($7,776) are available only in 1:00 contests.
