For just the third time since 1997, the Colorado Buffaloes will appear in the NCAA Tourney. It’s the second consecutive selection for Tad Boyle and the Buffaloes.
So what makes this Pac-12 team so dangerous?
1. This might just be the deepest team in Tad Boyle’s tenure at Colorado. Four players are averaging double-figure scoring, while a fifth rests at 9.0 points per game. Every one of those players is averaging at least 3.0 rebounds.
2. When it comes to players ready to raise their draft stock, few are as intriguing as Colorado forward Andre Roberson. Roberson remains one of the nation’s elite rebounders, posting averages of 10.9 points and 11.3 boards per game. You know, as a 6’7″ small forward.
3. Colorado enters the NCAA Tournament having split their final eight games at 4-4. A major reason is Spencer Dinwiddie’s inability to score in March, as he’s shooting 28.8 percent from the floor during the most important month.
4. Colorado went 4-1 during neutral ground games in 2012-13. They’re 12-3 during their past 15 regular season neutral ground outings.
5. The Buffaloes are 14-6 when Askia Booker scores in double-figures. They’re 7-5 when Booker fails to top 10 points.
