On Monday, the Miami Heat’s ridiculous 23-game winning streak was the hot topic at hand, and rightfully so.
It’s about time, though, that we start talking more about the Denver Nuggets.
For much of the season, there was a clear-cut picture of who the top four teams in the Western Conference would be. San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder have fought for first place for most of the season, the Memphis Grizzlies have won 15 of their last 18 games, and the Los Angeles Clippers have mostly been steady (with a heavy dose of facials).
Denver, however, is looking to change that complexion. The team has forced its way to be recognized as one of the most dangerous teams in the West with an under-the-radar 12-game winning streak. The streak, actually, reached to 13 after the team convincingly beat the Thunder 114-104 on the road on Tuesday. It’s the streak that no one has really talked about – outside of Denver, anyway – until now. Here’s what Bill Simmons – back from his brief twitter suspension – had to say about the contest:
