DraftStreet Serenade
It’s not getting any easier to pick a winning 8-man team in the $100K salary cap game. At this time of year, every ‘minor’ injury is a potential shutdown, and last-minute lineup changes are commonplace. You’re just happy if all eight players suit up.
The other side of the same coin is huge games, apparently out of nowhere, from unexpected sources. If you guess right on some of those, it can be very lucrative. Last night I tried D.J. Augustin and Darrell Arthur, both of whom started, but they didn’t take full advantage.
We will give it another whirl this evening. Even with a light 3-game NBA schedule, there are leagues closing at 7:00 EDT and a wide variety of player choices. While the pool isn’t nearly as deep at the top and bottom as it will be with a whopping 14 games tomorrow night, there is money to be made. We do have another $300 Freeroll for you on Friday; those are always fun but the odds are many times more favorable in $2 contests, with much larger prize pools and a capped number of entries.

Shawn Marion | $12,717 |
Brandon Bass | $10,955 |
Brandon Knight | $9,213 |
Derrick Williams | $9,635 |
The chart makes five suggestions in each of three price ranges. Barring any late-breaking news of illness, injury or rest, here’s my lineup:
F1 Carmelo Anthony (NY-F) $16,821
F2 Paul Pierce (BOS-F) $16,116
G1 Ricky Rubio (MIN-G) $16,491
G2 Jamal Crawford (LAC-G) $8,814
C1 Nikola Pekovic (MIN-C) $13,404
C2 DeAndre Jordan (LAC-C) $10,288
U1 Derrick Williams (MIN-F) $9,635
U2 Kyle Singler (DET-G) $8,056
A scoring duel between Melo and The Truth would be nice, and I’m hoping Big Pek rises to the challenge against Greg Monroe, who is considerably more expensive.
