SH Blog: What Now For Nuggets? Wizards Lost Larry O’Brien Trophy; $340k Stolen From Chris Bosh
- The Knicks are getting healthy. With their 101-83 win over the Bucks Friday night, the Knicks have matched their third longest winning streak in team history. Carmelo Anthony’s 41 inched him closer to the NBA scoring title as he became the first Knick since Bernard King to score at least 40 points in three consecutive games. They are looking to capture the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, and are close to wrapping it up. But is 35 year-old rookie point guard Pablo Prigioni their secret weapon? SheridanHoops’ own Jacob Eisenburg has the scoop: “In his first season in the NBA, the Argentinian point guard has transitioned from intriguing spark-plug in the Knicks’ hot start to little-used afterthought in the Knicks’ midseason slump. Now, as New York takes its season-best 10-game winning streak into tonight’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Prigioni has seemingly become an indispensable starter on a championship contender.” Also worth a clickthrough is Moke Hamilton’s column previewing Knicks-Thunder with Carmelo and KD neck-and-neck in the scoring race.
- To no surprise LeBron James and Kevin Durant once again took home Player of the Month honors in their respective conferences. More from Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel: “This marks the 20th time in the franchise’s 25 seasons a Heat player has been named Player of the Month and James’ 10th as a member of the Heat, the most by a player in franchise history. In March, James helped the Heat to a league-best 17-1 record, averaging 25.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 7.4 assists while shooting 53 percent from the field. He scored at least 20 points 14 times and shot at least 50 percent from the field in 13 games in March.”
