Because you can only put two forwards on the All-NBA First Team, and as I explained at length in my column detailing my ballot choices, I have Carmelo Anthony 2nd on my MVP ballot.
And since that other forward spot on First Team All-NBA is being occupied by LeBron James, who should be a unanimous MVP pick, there’s only so much room at the inn. As I say in this interview with CineSport’s Noah Coslov: “Kevin Durant isn’t second-team anything.”
But in this case, like I said, if I’m going to rank ‘Melo higher than KD on my MVP ballot, I have no choice but to do the same on by All-NBA ballot.
More discussion of that in the video below, along with explanations for my choice of Nikola Vucevic of Orlando as Most Improved Player and George Karl as Coach of the Year.

al jefferson?=??????????????????????????????? seriously?? Chris…come on, Al plays NO defense. None…NONE. Thats embarrasing that you rate him ahead of Noah or Asik.

Or ahead of Dwight, who was not up to his own high standards but still scored OK, led the league in rebounding and was at least a better defender than Al.

the problem with Melo is that is the antithesis of clutch. He runs up points on bored already vacationing lotto teams…….or in meaningless games. KD has issues, too. I could argue paul george to first team. But im with you George Karl …..best this year, hands down. Karl really coached a team into a serious contender with no super stars. I rate Thibs second, Pop third and honorable mention to Mark Jackson.
