Chicago Bulls backup center Nazr Mohammed lost his cool on Friday night, and it proved to be a costly decision for his team.
In an incredibly tense atmosphere during Game 3 between the Miami Heat and Bulls – where the two teams refused to even shake each other’s hands to begin the contest – Mohammed tried to wrap up LeBron James in transition early in the second quarter. It was a rather strange decision to begin with, given that it was a three-on-three situation – he was the fourth man back. Mohammed’s decision-making got even stranger when he got back up on his feet and shoved an unsuspecting James hard to the ground:
Thanks to his inability to think logically at that particular moment, Mohammed was ejected from the game after playing less than three minutes of the contest. Every detail matters when you’re this deep into postseason action, and his reaction certainly didn’t help the Bulls chances of upsetting the reigning champions, which was already slim to begin with.
