- Nick Young is being sued for allegedly raping a woman after drugging her. Ben Golliver of SI has details: “The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court against Young and the Crown Bar in West Hollywood. The woman’s allegations range from sexual battery and false imprisonment to intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence. She refers to herself as Jane Doe in the complain, and is seeking damages that are unspecified. The drug that the woman alleges Young used is Gamma-Hydroxbutyric acid, or GHB — often referred to as the date-rape drug. According to the complaint, the woman was at the Crown Bar in West Hollywood with a friend on Aug. 12, 2011, when Young approached them and offered them drinks. The suit also states that the plaintiff knew Young from two prior meetings.”
- Young, however, may be dealing with a false accuser. Law enforcement reportedly called the accuser’s claims crazy, from TMZ: “When she went to cops with the allegations, they dismissed them as bogus. As we previously reported, the woman claims Nick — a member of the Philadelphia 76ers — slipped a date rape drug into her drink at a Hollywood bar in 2011, took her to his home and raped her vaginally and anally. She’s filed a civil lawsuit, but now we’re learning shortly after the alleged incident, she went to LAPD cops who dismissed her claim because her story didn’t make sense. What’s more … law enforcement says at the time she went to cops, she was already talking about a lawsuit, and that made them even more suspicious. We’re told the woman subsequently made financial demands on Nick — to either pay up or face a lawsuit.”
- Nate McMillan was interviewed by the Atlanta Hawks for the coaching gig, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports: “Nate McMillan interviewed for the Atlanta Hawks’ coaching job on Wednesday, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. Atlanta general manager Danny Ferry is going through the unorthodox process of conducting a coaching search while his current coach, Larry Drew, remains under contract until June 30. Drew is highly unlikely to be retained as coach, but Ferry has reserved the remote option of revisiting contract extension talks with Drew should the Hawks fail to attract a coach Ferry believes is a better fit for the franchise.
- Brian Shaw has been contacted by the Detroit Pistons, according to Tom Leyden of wxyz.com: “Indiana Pacers associate head coach Brian Shaw has been contacted by the Detroit Pistons to interview for the team’s head coaching job, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. The source also said Shaw has been contacted by the New Jersey Nets. Shaw has significant ties to Phil Jackson, the Hall of Fame coach recently consulted by the Pistons regarding their head coaching job. Shaw played with the Los Angeles Lakers from 1999-2003, winning three championships during that span.

- Contrary to popular belief, Flip Saunders does not believe there are internal issues between the Timberwolves and Kevin Love, from Judd Zulgad of 1500ESPN: “You hear a lot in the media, and having been in the media, I take everything with a grain of salt,” said Saunders, who most recently worked at ESPN. “Having been there, too, (when it comes to what’s reported) and what’s actual. A lot of times when players are actually going through interviews sometimes they are in a situation where the context of the interview, things can be taken a little bit out of context. “I just know in my conversations with him since I’ve been here, he’s just said that he’s on board, he’s looking forward to the journey that we’re all going to take down the road and he’s working hard to get in shape.”
