MIAMI – Nobody is talking about LeBron James’ triple-double this morning. We have come to expect as much from The King.
The question of the day Friday, in the wake of San Antonio’s Game 1 victory in the NBA Finals, is whether we should have expected better from every single member of the Miami Heat in the fourth quarter.
When you shoot 5-for-18, that ain’t gonna get it done.
When your five field goals are matched by your five turnovers, that ain’t gonna get it done.
When you are the defending champions, you can’t save your worst for the fourth quarter. But that is what the Miami Heat did Thursday night. And combine that with an exquisitely brilliant single possession from Tony Parker (as I wrote about in this post-game column), and you have a team that looks outmatched in the poise and productivity categories.
