One week after the NBA Finals and a day removed from the 2013 NBA Draft, the Miami Heat have received big news that could impact their ability to play for a three-peat.
As soon as the Finals had ended, the Heat’s focus shifted to recruiting Ray Allen to stay for one more year. He signed on for two years with the Heat last summer, but was given a Player Option on the second year of the contract.
The recruiting process began with Heat forward Udonis Haslem. It seems to have worked, as Palm Beach Post writer Ethan Skolnick reports via Twitter.
Ray Allen opting in proves one thing: when Udonis Haslem makes a suggestion in the shower, you take it.

Skolnick is referring to comments Haslem made regarding his recruitment tactics.
“I put the bug in his ear in the shower after the game. I told him, ‘I’m not going to put no pressure on you. I’m not going to ask you what you’re going to do. But just know that I’m thinking about what you’re going to do.'”
Congratulations Haslem, while making the idea of NBA showering seem completely awkward, you have successfully gained one Jesus Shuttlesworth for the 2013-14 NBA season.
