As the 2013 NBA Draft is just around the corner, Wednesday brought with it news that signaled the potential end of one career and the possible demise of his franchise. Wednesday afternoon New England Patriots rising star tight end Aaron Hernandez, 23, was picked up from his North Attleborough home by Bristol County police and taken to the Bristol County District Court where he was later arraigned. Within 90-minutes of being picked up by the police, Hernandez was released by the Patriots. A short

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Pacers announced Wednesday that Larry Bird will return to the team as President of Basketball Operations. Bird agreed to a multi-year deal. Donnie Walsh, who held that position the last year, will be a consultant to the franchise and Kevin Pritchard remains as the Pacers’ General Manager. “We are all very happy to have Larry back,” said Pacers’ owner Herb Simon. “When he left last July, Donnie and I both told him the door would be open for him
NBA Draft: A Betting Preview
Before we begin our journey up to the 2013 NBA Draft, I personally believe it is very important to get a brief history lesson when it comes to previous drafts. Here were a few proposition bets prior to last years NBA Draft for a decent brief comparison: Anthony Davis was the unanimous selection to go number one in the draft, which was made obvious by the fact that you had to lay almost $5,000 to win $100. When it came to the

That, folks, is semantics. “Shopping” is a loaded word. “Listening to offers” is a more soothing statement. I went on to defend the story we posted yesterday about Kidd-Gilchrist,
Mock Draft 7.0: Noel rises to No. 2; Porter at No. 4; Oladipo drops to No. 7
As the NBA Draft approaches, the Cavs are still actively trying to trade the 1st overall pick, Washington seems determined to take Anthony Bennett of UNLV at No. 3 — which has led Charlotte to shop Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to make room for Otto Porter. Also, Kevin Love is once again being discussed as a trade candidate — to Cleveland, just as we reported in Mock 3.0.1 on May 29. [Read more…]
Tweet of the Night: Flip Saunders laughs at Kevin Love rumors
On Tuesday, rumors were swirling that the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Minnesota Timberwolves were discussing a deal involving Kevin Love for the No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft, Dion Waiters and Tristan Thompson. It has been less than two months since Flip Saunders took over basketball operations in Minnesota, so the fact that Love’s name is already being mentioned in rumors could make the power forward rather unhappy. Here are the details of the rumors, from Andy Katz of
