Hello and welcome to the Evening News.
What’s happening today?
Houston Rockets win the Dwight Howard sweepstakes
USA Today’s Sam Amick reports that Dwight Howard will be taking his talents to NASA.

Houston had been the rumored front runner for Howard since free agency began. The opportunity to play with James Harden on a winning team in a less demanding market than Los Angeles proved to be enough to secure Howard.
Earlier in the day, Marc Stein had reported that the Dallas Mavericks were out of contention for Dwight Howard.
“Got word we are out of the DH sweepstakes,” Mavs owner Mark Cuban told ESPNDallas.com and other local media in an email. “We gave it a shot and it didn’t work out. It was truly an experience. At some point I will post our video and presentation we made.”
While Howard’s camp has yet to make an official announcement, there is a unanimous belief from sources close to the situation that the agreement will be finalized either tonight or tomorrow.
UPDATE: Howard’s agent, Dan Fegan, says that his client is still undecided.
“Dwight has not finalized his decision,” Fegan told Yahoo! Sports just minutes after USA Today reported that Howard had decided to sign with the Rockets. “He hopes to finalize his decision tonight or tomorrow morning,” Fegan added.
Multiple sources have confirmed that the Rockets will be Howard’s pick but, with the nature of Howard’s indecisiveness, nothing is definite.
The Rockets, Lakers, Warriors, Mavericks, and Hawks have all been courting the superstar big man.
Warriors dump salary and sign Iguodala
Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Golden State Warriors have pulled off what could be the move of the offseason.
At around 4 PM, the Warriors sent the contracts of Andris Biedrins, Richard Jefferson, and Brandon Rush (along with several future draft picks, two of which are first rounders) to the Utah Jazz in exchange for little-used reserve Kevin Murphy.
Then, just minutes later, after clearing over $25 million from next year’s salary, Golden State inked one of the league’s best perimeter defenders:

Golden State GM Bob Myers has a great relationship with Iguodala’s agent, Rob Pelinka, and the two had been hammering out the details of a long term contract for the past two days.
Iguodala was offered more money by his incumbent Denver Nuggets but was more intrigued by the possibility of playing alongside Stephen Curry.
One reason for Iguodala’s departure from Denver could be that he was turned off by Nuggets’ owner Josh Kroenke’s decision to fire George Karl and let reigning executive of the year Masai Ujiri leave for Toronto.
