The best part is that when you talk to NBA coaches they all love Iman Shumpert. So of course the Knicks owner wouldn’t want him.

If you give the Knicks a couple of hours, they’ll do their best to spin this one. “Mr. Dolan was talking about Iman the female model.” — Frank Isola (@FisolaNYDN) July 17, 2013
Unlike most of the players on the Knicks roster, Iman Shumpert actually can be traded. He defends, he’s tough and young. — Frank Isola (@FisolaNYDN) July 17, 2013
As he goes on to mention, it seemed a little curious that Shumpert would want to play on the summer league team, as was reported back in June. Shumpert told the media that he wanted to play this summer to work on his offensive game.
“I want to come out and work on my stuff. It was tough losing in the playoffs, but I felt I built a foundation. I’ve sat out six months. I’m done sitting out. … I’m working to get my handle tighter. And make decisions earlier. Instead of coming out there guessing, I have to have a plan and [play] more consistency.”
One thing about Iman playing summer league. He never belonged there. He started 12 playoff games. For him, Vegas summer league is pointless

It’d be really interesting to see how the Knicks choose to combat this report.
While the comment was made off-the-air, Smith usually maintains reliable sources, so odds are that he will not back off of his comments.
