In today’s news, a capable NBA role player contemplates a move overseas and a franchise gets valued at nearly double what it was worth just three years ago.

Johnson, 29, has proven to be a highly capable role player in the NBA. Over his past two seasons with the Hawks, Johnson has averaged 6.5 points and 3.9 rebounds in limited minutes.
While four NBA teams remain in discussions with the 6-8 forward, it appears likely that all of those teams are unwilling to pay more than the veteran’s minimum for Johnson’s services.
Johnson’s agent, Jeremiah Haylett, said that his client is receiving lucrative offers from teams in China and Italy.
Warriors valued at $800 million
ESPN’s Darren Rovell reports that the Golden State Warriors are now worth $800 million in a new valuation.
The new valuation comes after former minority owner Vivek Ranadive sold his minority share of the team after he bought the Sacramento Kings earlier in the summer.
Joe Lacob and Peter Gruber led a group purchase of the Warriors in 2010 for $450 million. At the time, many analysts questioned whether the team was worth even that much.
Three years later, however, the Warriors are in a much better place. With a foundation in place led by Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Harrison Barnes, Golden State’s future looks extremely bright.
