The Warriors’ backcourt, unnofficially nicknamed “The Splash Brothers,” might be adding a biological brother to the equation.
In today’s news, Golden State has reached an agreement with Seth Curry on a non-guaranteed contract that will bring Steph’s little brother to the Bay Area.
Also, Jeanie Buss spoke candidly about Dwight Howard’s decision to jettison the bright lights of Los Angeles.
Warriors sign Seth Curry
Marcus Thompson of the San Jose Mercury News reports that the Golden State Warriors have reached an agreement with Seth Curry on a non-guaranteed.
Seth, the younger brother of Stephen, was unselected in the 2013 NBA draft despite averaging 17.5 points per game for Duke last season.
Seth chose the training camp invitation from the Warriors over a guaranteed contract in Barcelona because he is confident that he can compete for a spot on Golden State’s roster.
The younger Curry, who turns 23 today, had been in contact with San Antonio, Charlotte, and Chicago earlier in the summer.
He is currently rehabbing an injured shin that kept him out of the NBA’s pre-draft workouts. He expects to be fully healed in time for training camp in late September.
Jeanie Buss says Lakers failed Dwight Howard
According to Ric Bucher of the Hollywood Reporter, Jeanie Buss believes the Los Angeles failed Dwight Howard.
“It’s disappointing that Dwight isn’t here,” said Jeanie Buss. “I feel like we failed him. This is the mother part of me. When you become a Laker, I feel I become your mama. Maybe I get too sentimental for the basketball side of things.”
Howard had a roller coaster year with the Lakers in which he arrived as the organization’s future centerpiece and departed with a bitter divorce in early July.
Howard returned for the start of last season, just months after undergoing back surgery. He struggled with his rehabilitation for a good portion of the season and dealt with nagging injuries all year.
“When we got Dwight my phone lit up with people wanting to see him play. I told them, ‘If you’re only going to come to one game, come in January’ because I wasn’t sure Dwight was going to play until then because of his back. I was so impressed that from Day One, he threw himself out there. He took the risk to play as many games as he could.”

Dwight Howard chose wisely, to pick the Rockets. Even Jeanie’s boyfriend, Phil Jackson said he should go to Houston.
I can’t wait to see Asik and Howard playing together, just to prove the doubters wrong.
Meanwhile LA fans will be in for some unpleasant years, even if they want to dream about free agency in July 2014. Even if Kobe gives discount and takes 20 million, and Gasol takes 10 million, that only leaves 15 million to sign a free agent to a 4 year deal. They already have 12 million committed and at least 6 capholds for about 60 million salary cap.
LeBron and Melo wouldn’t take less than Kobe anyway and LeBron wouldn’t team with him. Besides Melo like $ and Knicks will offer him a max 5 year deal.
