Great news for gamers: 2K Sports has released its first official trailer for NBA 2K14. As anticipated, it looks awesome.
Don’t just take my word for it, have a look for yourself!
With LeBron James gracing a video game cover for the first time in his career, it’s fair to expect big things from the new installment of 2K.
The video, which is highly LeBron-centric at the start, also cameos Dwight Howard sporting a Rockets uniform, Monta Ellis electrifying Dallas, and (most importantly) Kent Bazemore ebulliently celebrating an Andre Iguodala alley-oop.
Needless to say, we should all be excited.
Now, onto another development from the NBA…
Babbitt signs with team in Russia
Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com reports that former Blazers first round pick Luke Babbitt will be playing in Europe next season.
Babbitt has agreed to a one-year deal with the Russian club BC Nizhny Novgorod.
The deal does not contain an NBA out clause, meaning Babbitt is committed to playing the entirety of next season in Russia.
Babbitt’s agent, Bill Duffy, believes playing in Europe is the right move for Babbitt at this point in his career:
“My take is Luke needs to play 30 minutes a game and play a more expanded role. We’ve had recent success with both Danny Green (of the San Antonio Spurs) and Patrick Beverley (of the Houston Rockets) getting an opportunity to develop their games in Europe and returning to the NBA. The NBA is a league of opportunity. We feel strongly this is the best move for Luke at this time.”
Babbitt was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the 16th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. He was quickly traded to Portland, where he has developed into a three point specialist of sorts.
Portland made Babbitt an unrestricted free agent after the team declined to exercise the fourth year of his rookie contract.
At only 24, Babbitt still has a chance to return to the NBA in the future. His 6’9″ frame and career 37.2% shooting percentage from the perimeter make him a skilled stretch forward.
Last season Babbitt averaged 3.9 points and 2.2 rebounds in 11.8 minutes per game for Portland.
