Daily Trivia: How many MVP awards did Michael Jordan win?
Tracy McGrady says he considered using PEDs.

Though he admits he never actually “crossed that line,” Tracy Mcgrady, the now retired 16-year NBA veteran revealed he considered using PEDs to regain not just his ailing knee health, but confidence. “I read up on it and saw the side effects,” he told Ernie Johnson on NBA TV’s open court, referring to why he decided not to go down that path. Regardless of his reasoning, it’s good he didn’t end up using. Testing positive would have ruined the legacy of a beloved NBA star. Sportsgrid.com
Stoudemire could be ready for opener

Amar’e Stoudemire was cleared for contact Saturday and went through five-on-five halfcourt defensive work, reports Al Iannazzone of Long Island Newsday. The New York Knicks forward had a procedure on his left knee during the summer, isn’t cleared to scrimmage yet. But if he continues to progress without any setbacks, there is a chance he will play in the Knicks’ season opener Oct. 30. “It’s possible,” he said. “The goal is to be ready to start the season. We’ll see if that pans out.” Stoudemire had two operations on his left knee and one on his right in a 10-month span. Since joining the Knicks in the 2010-2011 campaign, his productivity has decreased. He was in MVP discussions his first year in the “Big Apple” after averaging nearly 25 points per game. Since then, his scoring average has dipped by 11 per game. Stoudemire only played 29 games last season due to injuries.
Trivia Answer: Jordan won in 1987-88, ’90-’91, ’91-’92, ’95-’96 and ’97-’98.
