Bucks’ Larry Sanders being investigated for role in bar fight
Posted at 08:28 PM ET
The Milwaukee Bucks made a big commitment to Larry Sanders in the offseason, signing the forward/center to a $44 million contract extension. But the recent allegations against him are not what they bargained for. 1250 WSSP Milwaukee is reporting that Sanders threw punches and smashed champagne bottles on people’s heads at a bar on Saturday but no charges have been filed. Sanders is out on Wednesday night against the Cavaliers with a thumb injury, it was announced before the game. The injury is potentially related to the incident. The Bucks released a statement about the ordeal: “We are aware of an incident from Saturday evening. The matter is under investigation and Larry Sanders is cooperating fully.”
Tyson Chandler out 4-6 weeks
Posted at 11:51 AM ET
The New York Knicks have announced starting center Tyson Chandler will miss 4-6 weeks after suffering a small non-displaced fracture of his right fibula. The injury occurred midway through the first quarter on Tuesday in a loss to the Charlotte Bobcats at Madison Square Garden. Chandler held the side of his knee when he limped off the court after bumping knees with Charlotte’s Kemba Walker. Chandler made it to the bench, and had a bag of ice wrapped around his knee before exiting for the locker room. Further tests showed no ligament or nerve damage and surgery will not be required.
