Tweet of the night goes out to the key players of the Portland Trail Blazers, following their 96-85 win over the Sacramento Kings this evening.
The Trail Blazers are one of the many teams that will be looking to make a playoff push in the Western Conference this season, and their early strong play certainly provides hope as their record improves to 4-2.
As a leader of the team, power forward LaMarcus Aldridge led by example finishing the game with 22 points and 14 rebounds to mark a double-double performance. Despite his strong play, Aldridge acknowledges that the team still has room for improvement.
Solid back to back wins. Have to keep building.
— Lamarcus Aldridge (@aldridge_12) November 10, 2013
Not choosing to dwell on the teams fortunes, Aldridge takes the humble route as he acknowledges that his team isn’t quite where they need to be yet. This sentiment is shared by teammate Damian Lillard, who faced his own troubles on the court tonight. Last season’s rookie of the year has had a solid sophomore campaign up until tonight as he struggled against Sacramento.
Bad shooting night… Two wins on a back to back… Ill take it.
— Damian Lillard (@Dame_Lillard) November 10, 2013
Lillard shot a season low 1 for 15 from the field tonight. Though he did provide his team with 6 assists, Lillard recognizes that moving forward he’ll need to improve on his shooting for Portland to continue to win games.
He’ll be looking to bounce back on Monday night, as the Trail Blazers face the Detroit Pistons at home.
