Walker, who is survived by his 15-year-old daughter, Meadow, was at a community event for his organization, Reach Out Worldwide, that was intended to benefit victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
The crash happened just 300 yards from the event. He had been riding with a friend in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, apparently speeding, in a 45 MPH zone. The car struck a light pole and a tree, bursting into flames leaving only a heap of metal remaining of the vehicle.
[Cell phone video of the wreckage may be graphic to some.]
Walker’s fellow Fast cast members, Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, expressed their feelings on Twitter.
All my strength, love & faith to the Walker family during this heartbreaking time. We find our strength.. in his light. Love you brother.
