Some things don’t need much of an explanation, and this is one of those times.
In the first quarter against the Sacramento Kings, LeBron James saw an open lane and drove hard towards the basket. Hoping to draw a charge, rookie Ben McLemore sacrificed his body and positioned himself just outside of the restricted area. This is the result of his decision:
Ouch.
It was certainly a noble effort by the guard, but sometimes, effort can cause you to end up at the wrong end of a highlight play. Purists will praise McLemore, but most will simply laugh about it the way they did when Brandon Knight suffered the wrath of DeAndre Jordan last season.
Brooklyn Nets’ reserve forward Reggie Evans presumably saw the play and had this to say:
Dude got dunk on bad.

Dude got dunk on bad, indeed.
