We are just a day away from one of the biggest days ever at DraftStreet. At the top of the NBA lobby at DraftStreet you will find the multi-entry $11/ $100,000 GPP open for registration. If you know basketball and you’ve always wanted to try your hand and daily fantasy contests, this is a great opportunity to start. All you have to do select players from the ten NBA teams in action that will dominate tomorrow and you will have a great shot at huge prizes, with first place paying out $25,000. If you are interested in saving a bit off the entry fee, there are $2 satellites awarding $11 vouchers for the Christmas Day 100K available. Here is today’s Fantasy Spin.
Top Performers
LeBron James/MIA. Seems well and truly over the nagging injuries that slowed him down earlier. 16 of 28 FGA, 2 of 6 FTA, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, 0 TO, 38 points.
Tyreke Evans/NOP. Anthony Davis’s/NOP production has not reached the level seen before his injury, suggesting he came back a bit too early. Evans has taken up more responsibility even though he is now coming off the bench.
Brandon Knight/MIL. Continues a great stretch of games.
Gordon Hayward/UTA.
Dwight Howard/HOU. As soon as I heard James Harden/HOU would be out, I knew Howard would be a good value play due to the lack of other options for the Rockets.
Honorable mention: Brandon Jennings/DET, Kemba Walker/CHA,
Sleepers
Andre Miller/DEN. Haven’t mentioned him much this season, and his limited minutes limit his fantasy appeal. 6 of 8 FGA, 2 of 3 FTA, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 0 TO, 14 points.
Miles Plumlee/PHO. A monster game from an unlikely source, but the Lakers are one of the poorest defensive teams in the NBA.
J.R. Smith/NYK. Got extra minutes due to Carmelo Anthony/NYK leaving early with an ankle injury.
Cody Zeller/CLE.
Zach Randolph/MEM.
Biggest Busts
Paul Pierce/BOS. His ejection due to a flagrant foul capped a miserable game. 0 of 7 FGA, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 2 TO, 0 points.
Jarrett Jack/CLE.
Harrison Barnes/GSW. His fantasy decline continues.
Victor Oladipo/ORL. His new role as the leader of the second unit isn’t going well so far.
Upcoming NBA contests at DraftStreet
If you are like me, you are asking yourself not if you are going to play the Christmas Day 100K, but how many entries you will put in. Provisionally, I will be entering twice, but I might bump that up to three or four entries. There are almost 4000 player entries signed up so far, but there is room for 10,000, so overlay is a distinct possibility. If you play in NBA leagues at other daily fantasy sites, my advice is to skip them, pool you wagering funds and put them into the 100K.
Although there are no NBA leagues going tonight, there will be plenty of other action at DraftStreet tomorrow. There are already several interesting multi-entry GPPs listed in the lobby, all starting at noon.
If you are getting an early start preparing your lineups for the big day tomorrow, here are two top ten tables to help you. The first table is the top ten fantasy performers by DraftStreet points over the last two weeks. For comparison purposes, their season to date average is also listed. The second table is the ten most improved players, by net change in Draftstreet point over the last two weeks compared to season average. Only players in action tomorrow are included.
The Fantasy Spin is here every day, around 1 PM EST. Follow me @robdudek for breaking news and pre-game thoughts relevant to NBA daily fantasy.
