The Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade and the Los Angeles Clippers’ Blake Griffin today were named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Dec. 16, through Sunday, Dec. 22.
Wade averaged 26.3 points (fourth in the Eastern Conference) while leading the Heat to a 3-0 week. He scored at least 20 points, shot at least .560 from the floor, and led Miami in scoring in all three games. On Dec. 18, Wade tallied a season-high 32 points on 15-of-25 shooting and added three rebounds as the Heat topped the Indiana Pacers 97-94.
Griffin helped the Clippers to a 4-0 week behind averages of 26.0 points (third in the Western Conference), 11.3 rebounds (ninth in the conference) and 3.3 assists. He recorded three point-rebound double-doubles in the week. On Dec. 22, Griffin scored 32 points and added 10 rebounds and four steals as the Clippers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 120-116 in overtime.

Dec. 16 vs. Utah: Recorded 27 points, five rebounds, two assists and one block in a 117-94 victory over the Jazz.
Dec. 18 vs. Indiana: Posted a season high 32 points, three rebounds and three steals in a 97-94 win over the Pacers.
Dec. 20 vs. Sacramento: Scored 20 points and added five assists, five rebounds and three steals as the Heat beat the Kings 122-103.

Dec. 16 vs. San Antonio: Tallied 27 points, nine rebounds and two assists during the Clippers’ 115-92 win over the Spurs.
Dec.18 vs. New Orleans: Posted a double- double with 21 points and 10 rebounds, and added five assists in a 108-95 win over the Pelicans.
Dec. 21 vs. Denver: Posted 24 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal during a 112-91 win over the Nuggets.
Dec. 22 vs. Minnesota: Posted 32 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and added four steals during a 120-116 win over the Timberwolves.
