SH Blog: Reactions to the Rudy Gay trade; Deron Williams on track to return soon
Leave it to the NBA’s reigning Executive of the Year to upstage Kobe Bryant’s return. Going into the Raptors’ game with the Lakers in the Staples Center, all the buzz was (rightfully) on Black Mamba’s return from a torn Achilles, but with the Raps shedding Rudy Gay’s contract, it seems like Kobe’s return has been kind of pushed to a side burner for now. Not the back burner, but it’s not all that’s getting talked about. [Read more…]

Tweet of the Day: Raptors Ditch Rudy Gay
Short, but not that sweet is the best way to describe Rudy Gay’s stint in Toronto. On Sunday evening his time as a Raptor officially came to an end. LeBron James/MIA dominated all aspects of the Heat-Wolves game and Golden State’s shooters got hot and the Grizzlies couldn’t keep up. Detroit took advantage of Luol Deng’s/CHI injury and outmuscled the Bulls to earn a precious road

Sometimes big news breaks on the weekend, and this is certainly by no means a slow news day, but Kobe was only going to announce his return once, and of course he couldn’t do it on one of my blogging days.
