The Pistons rallied from a poor start to beat the Sixers. Dirk Nowitzki/DAL rebounded from on off game to lead Dallas to a comfortable road win over the Pelicans. The Heat stayed in town after losing to the Knicks and suffered another defeat, this time in double overtime to the Nets. The new look Bulls and Cavaliers scored wins on the road. The Celtics gave the Warriors all they could handle before losing by two. The Magic’s interior weakness was exploited by the DeMarcus Cousins/SAC. There are nine games on the hardwood floors tonight. Here is today’s Fantasy Spin.
Fantasy Boom and Bust
Top Performers:
Blake Griffin/LAC. He sliced through the Lakers’ defense until resting much of the fourth quarter. 12 of 15 FGA, 9 of 11 FTA, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks, 4 TO, 33 points.
Josh Smith/DET. The Sixers had no answer for Smith, a player who can dominate every phase of the game when he is on.
DeMarcus Cousins/SAC. Other than Tim Duncan/SAS, we haven’t seen this type of offensive skill from a center in a long time.
Kyrie Irving/CLE. He looks to have fully recovered.
Anthony Davis/NOP. One of the few bright spots for the Pelicans.
Honorable Mention: LeBron James/MIA, DeAndre Jordan/LAC, Dirk Nowitzki/DAL.
Sleepers:
Andre Iguodala/GSW. With all he does on the court, making field goals is a bonus. 9 of 14 FGA, 2 of 3 FTA, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals, 0 TO, 22 points.
Shaun Livingston/BKN. Stepped in effectively for Deron Williams/BKN.
Joe Johnson/BKN. One of the streakiest shooting guards in the league.
Kris Humphries/BOS. Now the frontrunner to take the bulk of center minutes.
Ed Davis/MEM.
Will Bynum/DET. Led the Pistons back into the game in the second quarter when Brandon Jennings was ineffective.
Disappointments:
Tyreke Evans/NOP. An ankle injury forced him out early. 0 of 2 FGA, 2 TO, 0 points.
Luol Deng/CLE. Not unexpectedly, there will be an adjustment period.
Giannis Antetokounmpo/MIL. Just ordinary rookie inconsistency.
Rodney Stuckey/DET. Hurt his shoulder after less than four minutes of play.
