If you watched the Blazers and Thunder battle you saw some highly entertaining basketball. Two superstars exchanged blows, with a pair of Kevin Durant/OKC dagger-like three pointers putting the game away. Elsewhere, the Nets continued to roll and the Heat gutted out a narrow win over a stubborn Celtics bunch. There are ten games on the NBA schedule tonight and DraftStreet has an assortment of contests for all tastes. The Sheridan Hoops DraftStreet Freeroll returns this Friday – you can win valuable vouchers to use in DraftStreet leagues. Just click on any text link to take you there. Here is today’s Fantasy Spin.
Fantasy Boom and Bust
Top Performers:
Rudy Gay/SAC. He’s been a revelation since the trade, at least in fantasy terms. It’s amazing that the Kings can’t win more consistently with Gay, Isaiah Thomas/SAC and DeMarcus Cousins/SAC all thriving. 16 of 25 FGA, 4 of 6 FTA, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 TO, 41 points.
Kevin Durant/OKC. I predicted he would take top spot on this list and he fell a fraction short. If you watched the Blazers-Thunder game you saw one of the greatest offensive players in the history of the game near the top of his game.
DeMarcus Cousins/SAC. He was so good in the first quarter that even foul trouble and a comfortable lead couldn’t keep his fantasy stat line from getting fat.
Ricky Rubio/MIN, Kevin Love/MIN, LeBron James/MIA, LaMarcus Aldridge/POR, Gordon Hayward/UTA.
Sleepers:
Jeff Withey/NOP. The Pelicans have been looking for a true center all season and Withey put his resume at the top of the pile last night. 5 of 6 FGA, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 0 TO, 14 points.
Corey Brewer/MIN, Rudy Gobert/UTA, Kyle O’Quinn/ORL
Disappointments:
Avery Bradley/BOS. Sprained his ankle and had to leave early. 0 of 3 FGA, 3 of 3 FTA, 1 rebound, 1 TO, 3 points, 7+ minutes.
Eric Gordon/NOP, Arron Afflalo/ORL, Tobias Harris/ORL, Rajon Rondo/BOS.
