The Spurs were hanging in despite missing three key players, but since losing a fourth (Manu Ginobili/SAS) they have been reeling. Losing at home by 10 points to the Chicago Bulls is a a new low this season. The Thunder started slow but geared up and blasted the Heat in Miami, led by Kevin Durant/OKC, Serge Ibaka/OKC and Thabo Sefolosha/OKC. LeBron James/MIA had a solid game, but didn’t get the defensive support the other Heat players usually provide. The Clippers and Grizzlies continued their winning ways, defeating the Wizards and Kings respectively. Despite only three games on the NBA schedule, there are plenty of DraftStreet contests on tap as we draw closer to next week’s Big NBA 150K. Here is today’s Fantasy Spin.
Fantasy Boom and Bust
TOP GUNS:
Dirk Nowitzki/DAL. The Mavericks are light on star power and have been careful with Nowitzki’s playing time. If he can maintain something close to this level, Dallas will be playoff darkhorses. 13 of 21 FGA, 11 of 11 FTA, 17 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 TO, 38 points.
Kyle Lowry/TOR. He’s high up on the list of most improved players of the season.
Randy Foye/DEN, Al Jefferson/CHA, Kevin Durant/OKC, Mike Conley/MEM, Kevin Love/MIN.
SLEEPERS:
Amir Johnson/TOR. Capable of great games in the right matchups, he doesn’t get consistent touches to be a reliable daily fantasy choice. 10 of 20 FGA, 1 of 2 FTA, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 TO, 22 points.
Evan Fournier/DEN, Jared Sullinger/BOS, Thabo Sefolosha/OKC, Al-Farouq Aminu/NOP
DISAPPOINTMENTS:
Nate Robinson/DEN. Had the start but was knocked out after just over 6 minutes with a left knee strain. 0 of 2 FGA, 0 TO, 0 points.
Monta Ellis/DAL, Victor Oladipo/ORL, James Johnson/MEM, Jordan Hamilton/DEN.
