When Pero Antic arrived at training camp for the Atlanta Hawks, he was their fourth-string center. The 31-year-old rookie from Macedonia was behind former All-Star Al Horford, veteran Elton Brand and journeyman Gustavo Ayon in the pecking order. Even on the NBA’s smallest team, the 6-11 Antic didn’t figure to play much. And he didn’t. Even with Ayon sidelined by a shoulder injury suffered early in camp, Antic had 11 DNPs in the first 22 games as new coach Mike Budenholzer relied

Sheridan: What Could the Knicks Get For Carmelo Anthony?
Word on the street today is louder than ever that Carmelo Anthony wants out of New York. How do we know this? Marc Berman and Frank Isola are writing it hard in the New York tabloids, and both of those fellas are as plugged into their team as any beat writers in North America. You can bristle at Isola’s anti-Berman’s tweets – a constant source of amusement for anyone who follows the Knicks – and you can bristle at Berman’s wardrobe, which

On the first night of NBA action in 2014, the Philadelphia 76ers continued to surprise as they handed the Nuggets a loss in Denver. Carmelo Anthony has a Twitter fight with Knicks fan
Is Carmelo Anthony reaching his breaking point? Throughout a remarkably frustrating season for the New York Knicks, Anthony has pretty much kept his cool. He hasn’t questioned management or ownership, thrown any teammates under the bus or purposely extended the narrative about his future. Anthony also has played very well – nearly as well as he did last season, when the Knicks won 54 games and he was a legitimate MVP candidate. His points (26.3 ppg) are down, but so are his

Happy New Year to all! Ten unlucky teams will have to rouse themselves after last night’s festivities and do battle on the hardwood. Yesterday, the Hawks rallied to beat the Celtics on the continued heroic play by Paul Millsap/ATL. James Harden/HOU rebounded from a poor outing, but the Rockets fell to the visiting Kings. The Spurs and Pacers registered expected wins, and the Raptors won a defensive battle over the Bulls. In the feature matchup, LaMarcus Aldridge/POR and Damian Lillard/POR led
