Monday didn’t just bring with it sadness for Denver Broncos fans and joy for the 12th Man of the Seattle Seahawks. Monday brought forth excitement for basketball fans around the world.
2014 is the FIBA Basketball World Cup, which begins in 207 days.
The draw for the team groupings happened on Monday.

The news was quite favorable for Team USA, which ended up in what might be considered the easiest group. They will face Turkey—the 2010 silver medal winners, Finland, Ukraine, New Zealand and the Dominican Republic.

Spain, which has faced Team USA in the gold medal round of the past two Olympics, drew the toughest group. San Antonio Spurs forward Boris Diaw, former NBA swingman Rudy Fernandez and Los Angeles Lakers forward Pau Gasol provided their reactions.
