The Suns and Warriors let down the home crowd, losing to sub-.500 Eastern Conference visitors. The Pacers took control of their game in the third quarter, holding off a furious Hawks rally in the final minutes. Both teams piled up the missed open shots and turnovers and will want to forget the game quickly. The Timberwolves were coasting to victory over the Lakers, but Los Angeles made things interesting enough that Kevin Love/MIN couldn’t get extra rest in preparation for tonight’s game. That could prove significant, as Love took a nasty tumble with a few minutes left. He stayed in the game but was in obvious pain – something which may affect his status versus the Thunder. The NBA floors will be teeming with action and DraftStreet will be the center of the daily fantasy sports world, as they dole out $150,000 in one contest with $50,000 earmarked for first place. Here is today’s Fantasy Spin.
Fantasy Boom and Bust
TOP GUNS:
Kevin Love/MIN. As expected, Love performed well, but got banged up and should not be counted on the produce at his normal level tonight. 8 of 19 FGA, 13 of 18 FTA, 17 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 3 TO, 31 points.
Al Jefferson/CHA. Got Andrew Bogut/GSW in first half foul trouble and provided enough offense for the Bobcats to defeat an ice cold Warriors team.
David West/IND, Kevin Martin/MIN
SLEEPERS:
Manny Harris/LAL. Jodie Meeks/LAL got hurt and Harris was great off the bench. Will he start tonight? 8 of 11 FGA, 1 of 2 FTA, 8 rebounds, 1 assist,1 steal, 1 TO, 19 points.
Robert Sacre/LAL. Any time a super-cheap backup starts at center you have to take notice. Sacre was a popular choice and had a good solid game, playing 31 minutes.
Gerald Henderson/CHA, Wes Johnson/LAL.
DISAPPOINTMENTS:
Jodie Meeks/LAL. He landed on a defender after a jump shot and rolled his ankle. 0 of 2 FGA, 0 TO, 0 points, 1.5 minutes.
David Lee/GSW. Was a game-time decision and (in retrospect) should have rested.
Lance Stephenson/IND. Injured his lower back after being toppled driving to the bucket.
Kendall Marshall/LAL. Played 21 minutes off the bench but wasn’t productive.
