Despite losing the injury battle, the Warriors’ shooters awoke and they cruised past the Bulls for an easy win in the end. Without Andrew Bogut/GSW inside, the Warriors big men got into foul trouble trying to handle Joakim Noah/CHI. But Chicago was unable to exploit their advantage in the paint and their first quarter lead frittered away by half time. In the earlier game, the Spurs were missing their four best players. I wonder how many games San Antonio would win in a season if they were forced to play without Tim Duncan/SAS, Tony Parker/SAS, Manu Ginobili/SAS and Kawhi Leonard/SAS and could only replace them with D-leaguers. My guess is in the 30-35 range. They fought hard, but the Nets depth advantage was telling. Next up, a slew of Friday night games with plenty of good candidates for our DraftStreet lineups. Here is today’s Fantasy Spin.
Fantasy Boom and Bust
TOP GUNS:
Stephen Curry/GSW. The maestro decided to end Golden State’s shooting woes with authority. 13 of 18 FGA, 4 of 4 FTA, 3 rebounds, 9 assists, 1 steal, 2 TO, 34 points.
Taj Gibson/CHI. He and Jimmy Butler/CHI played almost the entire game, as Carlos Boozer/CHI was a late scratch.
Danny Green/SAS. A great performance from a notoriously inconsistent player.
SLEEPERS:
Cory Joseph/SAS. After Green, he was the Spurs best player on the night and gave an inkling of what he might become when Manu finally hangs it up. 5 of 12 FGA, 7 of 7 FTA, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals, 2 TO, 18 points.
DISAPPOINTMENTS:
D.J. Augustin/CHI. Had a bad game when the Bulls needed him to make a difference. 5 of 12 FGA, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 steal, 2 TO, 10 points, 23.5 minutes.
DraftStreet NBA Contests
DraftStreet players were thrown for a loop last night when it turnout that three key player, Andrew Bogut/GSW, David Lee/GSW and Carlos Boozer/CHI would sit out the nightcap of the doubleheader. Because the news came in after the lineup submission deadline, all three players were heavily owned, effectively sabotaging owners who had one or more of them in their lineup.
There is a full plate of games on tap tonight. so daily fantasy players will be more selective when filling out their lineups. Among the highlights at Draftstreet, the $11/$25,000 is a hefty encore to the this past Wednesday action. And the DraftStreet Basketball Championship marches on: tonight we have qualifier number twenty-three, a $55/$17,500 GPP. As usual, there are plenty of double-up leagues, ranging up to 220-entry fields.
If you don’t have a DraftStreet account, you can sign up HERE. Though it’s a step down from Wednesday, there is plenty of money to be won.
