Spurs’ “Regulars” Ready to Take on Bobcats
San Antonio Spurs at Charlotte Bobcats (7:00 pm EST); over/under 192.5 ; Spurs -5 . INJURIES: SAS: Tim Duncan (P), Boris DIaw (P), Tony Parker (P), Marco Belinelli (Q), Tiago Splitter (Q), Kawhi Leonard (OUT), Manu Ginobili (OUT) ; CHA: none .
The injury reports on the Spurs seem to change by the hour. Cory Joseph/SAS would have bee a great bargain play, but it looks as though he will come off the bench.
Memphis Grizzlies at Atlanta Hawks (7:30 pm EST); over/under 189 ; Hawks -1.5 . INJURIES: MEM: Tony Allen (OUT), Mike Conley (OUT); ATL: Paul Millsap (P), Pero Antic (OUT).
As long as Conley/MEM is out and Nick Calathes/MEM is cheap, the latter remains a bargain. Millsap/ATL is dealing with an illness, which means more touches for DeMarre Carroll/ATL and better chances for big production from Zach Randolph/MEM.
Denver Nuggets* at Detroit Pistons* (7:30 pm EST); over/under 215.5 ; Pistons -1.5 . INJURIES: DEN: Randy Foye (P) ; DET: Josh Harrellson (OUT).
Detroit will be playing its third game in four night and their core players, Brandon Jennings/DET, Andre Drummond/DET and Josh Smith/DET, have all racked up heavy minutes the last two games. In contrast, the Denver players have had a lighter workload and I lean towards the Nuggets tonight.
Portland Trail Blazers* at Minnesota Timberwolves* (8:00 pm EST); over/under 211 ; Wolves -1 . INJURIES: POR: Mo Williams (D); MIN: Nikola Pekovic (D).
Unless the teams are tired from last night, this could be the highest scoring game of the night. The problem is that most of the good offensive producers are expensive. Kevin Martin/MIN is tremendously inconsistent and a bit one-dimensional, but he is capable of huge fantasy point if he is shooting well. Kevin Love/MIN is a bit risky due to his soreness.
Houston Rockets at Milwaukee Bucks (8:30 pm EST); over/under 205.5 ; Rockets -11 . INJURIES: HOU: Omer Asik (P), Greg Smith (OUT) ; MIL: Ersan Illyasova (Q), Luke Ridnour (Q), Caron Butler (OUT), O.J. Mayo (OUT).
We will likely see the return of Omer Asik/HOU, who has looked good in practice. That should reduce Dwight Howard’s/HOU minutes a little.
Golden State Warriors at Phoenix Suns (9:00 pm EST); over/under 209.5 ; Suns -2. INJURIES: GSW: David Lee (OUT), Andrew Bogut (P); PNX: Eric Bledsoe (OUT).
Miami Heat at Utah Jazz (9:00 pm EST); over/under 197.5 ; Heat -9.5 . INJURIES: MIA: Dwayne Wade (Q) ; UTA: none.
Wade/MIA was playing so well, but his knees are bothering him and he may take the night off against a less-than premium opponent.
