Chris Kaman/LAL confirmed that he is capable of putting up big fantasy numbers against the right opponents in the Lakers’ system. Unfortunately, the Lakers lost again and look headed for a bottom five win-loss record this season. It wasn’t Kevin Durant’s/OKC finest hour (eight turnovers), but his 36 points was enough to lead the Thunder to an important psychological win over Portland. LeBron/MIA picked up extra work in the absence of Dwayne Wade/MIA, as the Heat cooled off the Suns. For most teams tonight will be the final game before the All-Star break, and time to determine if they are buyers or sellers in the trade market. Big NBA Wednesdays make their debut at DraftStreet tonight. Here is today’s Fantasy Spin.
Fantasy Boom and Bust
TOP GUNS:
Joakim Noah/CHI. One of my tips last night. 8 of 15 FGA, 3 of 6 FTA, 16 rebounds, 11 assists, 3 steals, 1 TO, 19 points.
LeBron James/MIA. Bounced back nicely – not ready to give up the MVP fight yet. 12 of 22 FGA, 11 of 14 FTA, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals, 4 TO, 37 points.
Chris Kaman/LAL, Bradley Beal/WAS, Taj Gibson/CHI, Al Jefferson/CHA
SLEEPERS:
Chris Kaman/LAL. His great play increases the chances of Pau Gasol/LAL being traded. 11 of 24 FGA, 3 of 3 FTA, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 3 blocks, 3 TO, 25 points.
Nick Calathes/MEM. His time to shine will be ending soon, as Mike Conley/MEM returns as soon as tonight. 8 of 12 FGA, 1 of 1 FTA, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, 2 TO, 18 points.
Anthony Bennett/CLE, Gerald Green/PNX, Jeremy Evans/UTA, Josh McRoberts/CHA.
DISAPPOINTMENTS:
John Wall/WAS. As bad as he’s played this season. 2 of 10 FGA, 1 of 2 FTA, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 TO, 5 points.
LaMarcus Aldridge/POR. Portland’s chances are slim when the big guy is off his game. Had a tough matchup against Oklahoma City’s front court. 5 of 22 FGA, 2 of 2 FTA, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 4 TO, 12 points.
Marcus Morris/PNX, Paul Millsap/ATL.
