Star players on Golden State, Atlanta and Minnesota sat out, but all three teams managed wins. The Bobcats and Wizards claimed narrow victories, while the Mavericks and Pacers held off the Pistons and Bucks respectively. Earlier this week, LeBron James/MIA and the Heat got the better of the Oklahoma City Thunder. This afternoon, Blake Griffin/LAC and Chris Paul/LAC are hoping for a similar outcome. The Heat, meanwhile, will have their hands full with a team that matches up well against them: the defensive minded Chicago Bulls. The rest of the action takes place in the evening, highlighted by clashes involving four Western playoff contenders. Here is today’s Fantasy Spin.
Fantasy Boom and Bust
TOP GUNS:
Kevin Love/MIN. When Nikola Pekovic/MIN was announced a scratch, it sealed the deal for Love as one of the top plays of the night. 11 of 20 FGA, 9 of 10 FTA, 12 rebounds, 10 assists,1 steal, 1 TO, 37 points.
Brandon Knight/MIL. The Bucks have a bright future if they can keep Knight and John Henson/MIL on the development track.
David West/IND. Part of a three-headed monster that led the Pacers to a relatively unimpressive win over the Bucks.
Lance Stephenson/IND. Pacers are hard to beat when the offense runs through Stephenson.
Tyson Chandler/NYK, Paul George/IND, Nene Hilario/WAS, Josh Smith/DET, Kemba Walker/CHA.
SLEEPERS:
Kris Humphries/BOS. Replaced Jared Sullinger/BOS as the starting center. 9 of 15 FGA, 1 of 1 FTA, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 3 TO, 19 points.
Mike Scott/ATL. Started in place of Paul Millsap/ATL and was the top Hawk last night.
Jermaine O’Neal/GSW. Didn’t have to go up against an elite center and therefore had more scope to accumulate fantasy points.
DISAPPOINTMENTS:
Al Jefferson/CHA. The Grizzlies adjusted and shut him down. 2 of 12 FGA, 2 of 2 FTA, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 TO, 6 points.
Brandon Jennings/DET. Another bad game and another Pistons loss – not a coincidence.
Andre Drummond/DET. Doomed by early and serious foul trouble.
Gordan Hayward/UTA, George Hill/IND.
