It turns out the Heat without LeBron James/MIA are still pretty good. They pulled away from the cold shooting Bulls in the fourth quarter as Dwayne Wade/MIA and Mario Chalmers/MIA led the way. Neither the Clippers nor the Thunder were interested in playing defense in the first half, and despite the determined play by Kevin Durant/OKC, the Jamal Crawford/LAC-led Clippers came through in crunch time. In the evening contests, the Wizards had a rare “easy” win over the Cavs, but may have lost one of their key big men (Nene Hilario/WAS) to injury. Monday sees a light evening schedule tonight in the NBA, but as always there is no shortage of action at DraftStreet. Here is today’s Fantasy Spin.
Fantasy Boom and Bust
TOP GUNS:
Rudy Gay/SAC. He’ll have monster games like this from time to time but is not to be trusted except in very favorable matchups.
Kevin Durant/OKC. The Thunder lost against another excellent team – consider it teething pains while Russell Westbrook/OKC is reintegrated into the offense.
Deron Williams/BKN. Perhaps the key man in a potential Nets renaissance.
DeMarcus Cousins/SAC, Isaiah Thomas/SAC, Dwayne Wade/MIA, Nicolas Batum/POR.
SLEEPERS:
Thomas Robinson/POR. He’ll be counted on in the absence of LaMarcus Aldridge/POR.
Evan Fournier/DEN, Matt Barnes/LAC, E’Twaun Moore/ORL, Andrei Kirilenko/BKN.
DISAPPOINTMENTS:
J.J. Hickson/DEN. The closest thing to a true center for the Nuggets and so is occasionally mismatched against a true center.
D.J. Augustin/CHI. Now that Kirk Hinrich/CHI has returned to full health, Augustin’s playing time should diminish.
Chris Kaman/LAL. The ball is over for Cinderella.
DraftStreet NBA Contests
A new week begins and the run up to the Wednesday 50K gets into gear. If you are interested in a discount on your entry, $1,$2, and $5 satellites are running tonight: look for the green dollar sign in the NBA lobby. As far as the large GPPs are concerned, my eye will be on the $5/$5,000 GPP with room for 1,100 runners. Survivor format makes another appearances, this time a $22 buy-in.
A reminder that the end of the month is near, so regular DraftStreet players should ensure they earn enough DraftStreet Credits to make it to their desired level. I have my eye on 1,500+ Street Creds, which would renew my Silver status. If you don’t have a DraftStreet account, you can sign up HERE and begin accumulating DraftStreet Credits.
