It is crystal clear who the worst team in the NBA is. With their fire sale, the Sixers have reached towards the limit of “how low can you go” in the NBA, as evidenced by the thrashing suffered at the hands of the lowly Bucks. And on home court, no less. There were no major upsets on the hardwood floors last night, withe the biggest “surprise” being the Jazz’s easy victory over the Celtics. The highlight tonight will be fringe playoff contenders, the Timberwolves, versus the surprise team of the year, the Phoenix Suns. DraftStreet has plenty of action tonight in anticipation of another big Wednesday tomorrow. Here is today’s Fantasy Spin.
Fantasy Boom and Bust
TOP GUNS:
Carmelo Anthony/NYK.
Thaddeus Young/PHI. Once again he carried the team as best he could, but there is little he can do about the porous defense.
Chris Paul/LAC. If there were any doubts about the health and readiness of Paul, this game should have erased them.
DeAndre Jordan/LAC. A monster first half, made up for another sub-par game from Blake Griffin/LAC.
Anthony Davis/NOP. Held his own in a difficult matchup.
SLEEPERS:
Alexis Ajinca/NOP. I’ve thought for some time that he ought to become the full-time center for the Pelicans.
Kelly Olynyk/BOS. With Jared Sullinger/BOS out, it was going to be either Olynyk or Kris Humphries/BOS carrying the load.
Jermaine O’Neal/GSW. The “old man” looked sprightly and helped take the pressure off a clearly suffering Andrew Bogut/GSW.
Marvin Williams/UTA, O.J. Mayo/MIL.
DISAPPOINTMENTS:
Andre Iguodala/GSW. With plenty of shooters, Iguodala’s role is shut down defending. Unfortunately, that skill isn’t reflected in his fantasy stats.
Blake Griffin/LAC. Even considering the quality of big men, Griffin had to deal with, a sub-par performance.
DraftStreet NBA Contests
The Wednesday 50K is just a day away and satellites are filling up speedily. I’ve entered two $2 sats so far and I’m thinking about entering more, including the $5 sat. Last week the 50K didn’t fill and when that happens there is the chance of overlay. Overlay is free money and always appreciated by the daily fantasy player. If you want to register directly for the 50K, it is up in the NBA lobby as I write. There is no shortage of large field GPPs today, notably an $11/$10,000 GPP with room for 1,000 runners.
A reminder that the end of the month is near, so regular DraftStreet players should ensure they earn enough DraftStreet Credits to make it to their desired level. I have my eye on 1,500+ Street Creds, which would renew my Silver status. If you don’t have a DraftStreet account, you can sign up HERE and begin accumulating DraftStreet Credits.
