The NBA held just two games last night, but both provided their fair share of intrigue. Two teammates set a collective NBA record, while a red-hot Eastern Conference team earned a very rare win over a Western Conference foe. Here’s everything that you need to know about last night’s action. [Read more…]

Tweet of the Day: Damian Lillard’s Busy Weekend
The Inside the NBA crew took to the airwaves, prior to Thursday night’s game between to the San Antonio Spurs and the Brooklyn Nets, to draft the BBVA Compass Rising Stars teams and announce the entrants in All-Star Saturday’s feature events—the Footlocker Three-Point Shootout and the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest. First up, the draft—which had some hilarious bickering between co-GMs Chris Webber and Kenny Smith over the first pick of the draft. Webber selected New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis without
Rookie Rankings, Week 14: Take a Seat, Kid
Another lottery pick has lost his starting spot. First it was Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo, who began the season as a starter and has shifted back and forth from the bench to the starting lineup as teammates have become healthy or injured. To Oladipo’s credit, it has not had a serious impact on his performance. Then it was Sacramento Kings guard Ben McLemore, who began the season as a reserve, was elevated to starter as coach Mike Malone became disenchanted with
Fantasy Spin: Thursday, February 6, 2014
To say that yesterday was eventful for NBA daily fantasy players is an understatement. Not only was there frenzied and occasionally bizarre action on the court, but DraftStreet held one of its signature contests of the NBA season, awarding a first place prize of $50,000. Taking top spot in the Bizarro world was the Lakers-Cavaliers game. The Cavaliers were horrible in the first half, ended up benching two of their stars, then rallying to almost win the game. That drama

Tweet of the Night: Los Angeles Lakers’ players react to one of the most bizarre games they’ve ever seen
The Los Angeles Lakers have been short on bodies all season long due to an assortment of injuries to key players. In Wednesday’s 119-108 victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the shortage reached a new level. Already without Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Pau Gasol, Jordan Hill, and Jodie Meeks, the Lakers also lost Nick Young (knee) and Jordan Farmar (leg) to injuries during the game, which left them with just six able bodies. Chris Kaman, however, was already fouled out of the game
Tweet of the Day: Steph Curry’s Facebook Q&A
Tuesday night the Charlotte Bobcats put the clamps on the Dubs shooters—holding the team to a pitiful 31.2-percent from the floor—in a 16-point blowout win. It was the team’s worst shooting percentage since 2004, when they shot 27.5-percent against the Memphis Grizzlies. Point guard Steph Curry shot 8-of-18 (44-percent) from the floor in the loss. The most efficient scorer on the team—not named Curry—was Jermaine O’Neal, who made his return from wrist surgery, having shot 2-of-5 (40-percent) from the floor en
Sprung: Top Pick Bennett Has Historically Bottomed Out
Poor Anthony Bennett tried to keep his head up. His right shoulder was heavily wrapped after a 31-point loss to the Knicks, and there was disappointment in his eyes. Bennett had another empty, unremarkable game just two days after a seemingly encouraging 15-point performance against New Orleans. It turns out that it was just a blip in a season of disappointments for both player and team. [Read more…]
