The 2014 NBA All-Star Weekend is well behind us, in the rearview mirror as we streak away towards the end of the regular season and the NBA Playoffs. For some teams the playoffs may be out of reach. The New York Knicks, for instance, are only six games back of the 8th-seed with 25 games remaining. However, with only two wins in their last 10 outings and the team in effective disarray—Raymond Felton facing gun charges, Metta World Peace being released,

Fantasy Spin: Tuesday, February 25, 2014
It is crystal clear who the worst team in the NBA is. With their fire sale, the Sixers have reached towards the limit of “how low can you go” in the NBA, as evidenced by the thrashing suffered at the hands of the lowly Bucks. And on home court, no less. There were no major upsets on the hardwood floors last night, withe the biggest “surprise” being the Jazz’s easy victory over the Celtics. The highlight tonight will be fringe
Which ‘Office’ character is each of the Most Improved Player candidates?
It’s part of my nightly routine. First, I sit on the couch and watch hours of NBA basketball, blankly staring at the screen like a zombie or Kevin from The Office. Then, after the final buzzer sounds on the last West Coast game, I flip over to channel 7 and zone out during a late-night mini-marathon of Kevin and all of his friends on The Office. It’s gotten to the point where last night, I dreamt that Dwight crashed the Most Improved Player
Schayes: March Numbness Around the Corner; Doldrums Await
Enjoy “February free agency” while it lasts, folks. After Metta World Peace and maybe even Danny Granger get bought out and waived, you know what awaits? The dark days. March Numbness … or Sadness … or Badness. If you think the Sixers are bad now, allowing 130 points to the Bucks on Monday night, just wait. It will be mind-numbing. The six weeks after All Star Weekend is the part of the schedule that players dread. It’s the part of the season

Not unlike seasons of past, key players for many teams around the league have missed significant time due to a variety of injuries this season. It looked as though Nene Hilario would suffer a similar fate – and then some – when he went down with a scary looking knee injury against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday. Some in the organization feared that it may have been bad enough to be season-ending. Lucky for the Washington Wizards, the power forward suffered nothing
