There’s bad, and then there’s the Philadelphia 76ers.
Thursday, March 27 played host to the continuation of one of the worst losing streaks in the history of professional sports. Three other results helped shape a big night in the NBA.
Here’s everything that you need to know about last night’s action.
1. James Harden recorded 26 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and one steal to lead the Houston Rockets to a lopsided 120-98 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. James Anderson scored a game-high 30 points for Philadelphia, but it wasn’t enough to prevent yet another loss.
It was Harden’s first triple-double this season and the second of his career.
2. The 76ers tied an NBA-record with their 26th consecutive loss. That also ties the longest streak in the history of the four major U.S. sports.
3. Chris Paul put up 31 points and nine assists to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a 109-103 road win over the Dallas Mavericks. Blake Griffin added 18 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and two blocks as the Clippers picked up a road win with potential postseason ramifications.
This was the first game in which Griffin failed to score at least 20 points since January 18. He shattered the franchise record with 31 straight games with at least 20 points scored.
4. LaMarcus Aldridge returned to action with 25 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 100-85 win over the Atlanta Hawks. Mo Williams matched his season-high with 11 assists as Portland snapped a three-game losing streak.
