Two games, two memorable outings. It was that type of night in the NBA.
The action was scarce on Thursday, April 10 with just four teams taking center stage in two games. Both of those clashes were decided by single-digits, including one that ended when an unlikely clutch performer hit a game-winner with 0.5 seconds on the clock.
Here’s everything that you need to know about last night’s action.
1. Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard combined for 36 points and 31 rebounds to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 107-100 road victory over the Dallas Mavericks. Duncan put up 20 points and 15 rebounds and Leonard tallied 16 points, 16 boards, five assists and two steals as the Spurs improved to 30-10 on the road.
The Spurs are an NBA-best 23-3 since the All-Star Break.
2. San Antonio is the 13th team in NBA history to win at least 30 road games in one season. Seven of the previous 12 teams won the NBA championship.
3. San Antonio matched a season-high with 16 three-point field goals made. Dallas converted just five.
4. Kenneth Faried beat the buzzer to help the Denver Nuggets stun the Golden State Warriors 100-99 at Oracle Arena. Faried stuffed the stat sheet with 18 points and 17 rebounds, while Stephen Curry put up 24 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals.
Timofey Mozgov hit career-best marks of 23 points and 29 rebounds for the victorious Nuggets.
5. Mozgov’s 29 rebounds are the most by any player in a single since Nikola Vucevic of the Orlando Magic posted an identical mark on December 31, 2012.
Bonus Fact: The home teams lost both games on Thursday.
