MT @FredKerber Steve Novak on Woody firing: #Knicks “had a down year but when you trade me away what do you expect? No, no I’m just joking”

In addition to news and speculation, there has been a few entertaining (and comical) memes circulating the internet.
BREAKING: Phil Jackson has fired Mike Woodson & his coaching staff. Phil & Kobe are alike. http://t.co/UIPtGakJta pic.twitter.com/I8kdd5DuAR

If @PhilJackson11 could #FireDolan he’d do that too. #SportsNation (via @TeamDWade) pic.twitter.com/9tZqL2eIMp — Max Kellerman (@Max_Kellerman) April 21, 2014

After hearing the news, Woodson said that he was “fine.”
I’m in my office packing as we speak. I’m not really entertaining anything with the media right now. I’m just trying to clear my head. That’s what I’m doing. … I’m fine. I have been doing this a long time. I’m good, really good. It’s time to move on.”
Knicks guard J.R. Smith was saddened to hear of the news.
“He was great to me. I think I got a fair shake for the first time in a while under him. He treated me how he wanted to be treated. It sucks, but there is nothing I can do about it.
“I think he did a great job. I think he did a good job with me. He responded to the players. It’s just a sad day for him, for me and my teammates.”
The day may be sad—perhaps for Woodson and some of his players, but after years of mismanagement and failure to meet postseason expectations, the future is full of hope…for now.

Its only Downhill from here for the Knicks, but they don’t know that yet.
Bulls should be calling on Melo, after they lose to Wizards, and Melo must be dreaming already of fitting in with that team, or possibly Houston or even the Wiz (he grew up in Baltimore).
Woodson was the best coach the Knicks have had in over a decade, and he had the respect of the players. How is Steve Kerr going to get the respect of all the players if he has no experience? How is he going to get the respect of his Asst. Coaches, whoever they are? Is Kerr going to pick out his assistants himself, or will PJax do that for him?
Will PJax want to remake the team in his image, or tie up cap space with Melo’s $24 million salary during the key 2015-2016 season, that will balloon to 29 million in Melo’s 5th year? Or will PJax let Melo walk, and pray that LeBron wants to represent The Mecca of Basketball in July 2015? I don’t expect the Heat to win any championships, this year or next.
The future looks Grim to me for the Knicks.
